Unlocking policies with the various networks differ greatly. If you bought an iPhone 2nd hand or were gifted an iPhone, if you are not the original contract holder or if a contract period remains (to name but a few) it's likely you will not meet the requirements to unlock directly via Rogers. This is when an Official Factory Apple Unlock Service is required.

An Official Apple Unlock removes ALL network restrictions imposed by Rogers both in and around the world. This allows your iPhone 3G to be used with ANY network and unlocked from anywhere in the world. Unless stated, as long as your iPhone 3G has not been reported 'lost or stolen', any iPhone 3G can be unlocked, regardless of contractual period (unless stated) etc. Once unlocked you are able to swap and change network Sim cards at your will. Your will be unlocked to use any sim card and no longer limited to just Rogers in .

To unlock your iPhone 3G with an Official Permanent iPhone Unlock all we require is the IMEI of the phone and a contact email address to receive all correspondence and ultimately, the 'Unlock Confirmation'.

An IMEI number is a unique 15 digit number that identifies your handset and its lock to the Rogers network. The process updates your IMEI on the Apple GSX database and it is marked as 'Unlocked/Whitelisted/Sim Free'. This is the only permanent unlock, recognised by Apple.

The iPhone 3G was first revealed on June 9, 2008 and was to become Apple’s 2nd generation iPhone.

The iPhone 3G was internally similar to its predecessor but included several new hardware features such as GPS, 3G data and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA. The device was originally launched running the iPhone OS 2.0. operating system. This new operating system which, included push email and navigation also saw the introduction of the App Store, the third party application marketplace.

On July 11, 2008 Apple actually released the iPhone 3G across twenty-two countries in two storage options, 8GB and 16GB. The 16GB model was produced in either black or white.

Following the release of the successor iPhone 3GS model one year later, the iPhone 3G remained on sale but became Apple's budget phone with its price cut in half. Available only in black with 8 GB of storage and bundled with the updated iPhone OS 3.0 software.

On June 7, 2010, the iPhone 3G was finally discontinued, and replaced as Apple's budget phone by an 8 GB iPhone 3GS selling for the same price of with a 2-year contract.

I was in a hurry to unlock my phone and was bombarded with confusing websites. I found this site and could see they had lots of satisfied customers. The very next day I received my unlock confirmation and simply inserting a new sim card in to the phone, it was recognised and I have been using it without a problem since. The service was excellent

Had a little problem with the phone recognising the unlock but emailed customer service and they soon determined it was because I had restored my phone to factory settings and not activated it before trying to unlock it. On their advice I solved my problem and now my phone is unlocked. The only reason for a 4 star and not a 5 was that LiveChat is only available 104 GMT and I am now in Australia. Already recommended to other travellers I have come across wishing to do the same and will continue to recommend you. Brilliant service, thank you.

Spent about a week being told by local shops and Vodafone that I could not get unlocked, I thought I was stuck with an iPhone that I was never going to get unlocked. Found officialappleunlock this morning and within a few days it was unlocked. Seriously impressed and can highly recommend to others.

Customer service eliminated any doubts I had, answered all my questions and walked me through what I needed to order. Great customer service, rarely experienced now with online shopping.

I didn't want to simply change networks, I'm more than happy with my current EE network but they told me that I could not unlock my iPhone within 6 months! I just wanted to use my phone with my Italian network when I spend time at my holiday home abroad.I was a little concerned because if my network wouldn't help me, I wondered how this site could? I need not have worried, within a very short time I received the unlock confirmation and my phone was unlocked. I now swap between sims when I travel and they did what my network said they wouldnt. Many Many Thanks

The unlock completed in a timely fashion but I struggled to get the phone to recognise my new sim. After a few prompt exchanges with customers services and LiveChat it was determined that the new sim I was inserting into the phone had not been activated. I simply borrowed a sim from my colleague and the unlock was recognised straight away. Great company and very professional service

I do highly recommend this service, it's awesome. My only reason for a 4 star reviews was I was quoted 24 hours for unlock and after 24 hours I was worried I had been a victim of a scam. The unlock was completed in under 48hrs however!
